Description

In conjunction with the Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful movement, Join us as we walk and clean up the 2 mile walking path - Baldwin Loop in the Woodlawn neighborhood in Pawtucket. We will pick up trash and make notes on where we might be able to plant trees in the future.

In September 1972, 10,000 volunteers lined the banks of the Blackstone River to remove tons of trash, appliances, furniture, cars and a school bus from its banks.

It became the largest one-day regional clean-up in American History.

The Empowerment Factory is joining the effort to commemorate and further the efforts by hosting a community clean-up in Pawtucket, to celebrate the 50th anniversary and gather even more volunteers to clean up the Blackstone Valley watershed. Volunteers will be working across RI on this day to hopefully meet and exceed the number of volunteers from 50 years ago.

We have gloves and bags but feel free to bring your own as we do not know how many volunteers will show up. Masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines for COVID-19 will be followed.
