Every wonder what it takes to build a nonprofit from the ground up? Are you interested in a career as a social entrepreneur or working in the nonprofit industry? Or maybe you want to spend your summer giving back to the local community? Then this opportunity may be for you! We are looking for a passionate, community driven individual to join our team as a summer intern.

Application Process

- Applications are due by June 11, 2021
- Interviews will be held June 14-18, 20021
- Intern starts the week of June 21-25, 2021
- Internship runs through late August 2021
 
Who is eligible
• College students
• High school students in their junior or senior year will be considered if they demonstrate a high level of motivation and professionalism
• Prior work experience is required, preferably in an office setting or at a nonprofit
• This position requires candidates to provide their own transportation,  please review the list responsibilities during the application process
 
Role Overview
This is a part-time unpaid internship. Minimum of 8 hours per week is required (ideally in 4 hour shifts). Working hours are flexible but must be completed between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday at our office in Warwick.
 
About Amenity Aid
Amenity Aid’s mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable populations by creating access to essential hygiene products. Liz Duggan founded Amenity Aid in 2013 after seeing firsthand the great need for toiletries in shelters. As a frequent business traveler, Liz would donate hotel amenities. That’s how she discovered the issue of hygiene poverty and created Amenity Aid as a solution. Working closely with 11 local nonprofits to distribute personal care necessities, Amenity Aid has provided over 200,000 products to our state’s most vulnerable populations.
 
Who Should Apply
Students interested in rolling up their sleeves and helping a startup nonprofit in all areas of the business. The intern will work closely with the Executive Director for an up-close look at what it takes to build and sustain a nonprofit. Applicants should have a vested interest in serving their community, positive attitude and willingness to aid in all areas of the nonprofit.
