The FIRST LEGO League is a youth robotics program for elementary and middle school students run in Rhode Island by Rhode Island Students of the Future, a non-profit organization.
The FIRST LEGO League qualifying tournaments include 10-20 teams of students who have spent 6-10 weeks building a robot, creating a research project and learning to work as a team.
We need: judges to evaluate the teams' robots, projects and core values; referees to keep score during the fast-paced robot game; and event crew to keep the tournament running smoothly.
Judges must be 18 or older. Referees are 16+. Event staff are generally adults and high school students. Younger people can volunteer alongside their parents, in event crew roles.
FIRST LEGO League Qualifying tournaments are held on most Saturdays and some Sundays in December. Please look at the Rhode Island Students of the Future listing for a full list of tournament dates.
Volunteers are required to undergo a background check provided by FIRST. A link will be provided to those who register through SERVE RI.
