Every year, Rally4Recovery RI hosts its free, family-friendly annual festival to raise awareness, connect people with resources, and celebrate recovery.
The 2025 Rally is happening on Saturday, September 13 from 12-4pm in 195 District Park, downtown Providence.
Volunteers will receive water, snacks, food, and t-shirts along with TWO entries into the raffle for amazing prize giveaways! Please consider donating a few hours of your time; the volunteers make this event possible. It's a great way to be of service, and it's a lot of fun!
VOLUNTEER STATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
When registering to volunteer, you will be asked to select one or more of these roles:
SET UP 8am Arrival •Coffee & donuts will be provided •Set up tents and tables •Assist in unloading and arranging Rally items & décor •At 10am, vendors will begin to arrive and Volunteers can also assist in bringing their collateral into the park
KIDS ZONE 12pm – 4pm •Monitor the bounce house obstacle course •Periodically sanitize play areas with antibacterial wipes (all cleaning items provided, including gloves) •Help keep Kids Area free from trash/items left behind • Help direct families to other activities, ie- face painting, reptile show, etc
FOOD/DRINK 1pm – 3pm •Food is being donated by local restaurants and caterers, and is FREE for all until it is gone •Providing attendees with food/drink of their choice •Ensuring safe disbursement of food, these Volunteers will be provided gloves and sanitizer •Once food is finished, please check in with a Volunteer Coordinator for next steps
CLEAN-UP CREW 2pm – 6pm (with a break at 4pm to attend the raffle) •The park needs to be cleaned up by 6pm (meaning up and out BY 6!) •All sanitary items will be provided for you to complete these tasks •At 2pm, begin cleaning up left behind trash and items around the park – bringing full trash bins to designated trash collection areas •Rally goes until 4pm, immediately followed by the raffle from 4pm – 4:15pm •Vendors will begin packing up their things around this time, they may need assistance in bringing collateral back to their vehicles •Breaking down tables & vendor tents and loading them back into the trucks
FLOAT Time & duration as needed •Float Volunteers will be placed wherever there is the greatest need, which may change throughout the day •Please reach out to Anita (anita_nester@brown.edu) with the hours you are available to volunteer.
GENERAL NOTES •If under age 18, must have adult accompany you •Wear comfortable shoes •Ask questions to any Committee Crew member if uncertainty pops up during a task you are completing •This is a RAIN OR SHINE event! …. Check the weather & bring rain gear if rain expected •Take a break when needed •Making all who you encounter feel welcomed •Bring a smile, positivity and get ready for a super fun day! •You must provide us t-shirt size requests by August 31st . After this day, we cannot guarantee your requested size upon sign-in will be available
