Jonnycake Center of Westerly is a non-profit social service agency in
Westerly RI. Our agency includes food pantry, health, legal, housing,
fuel assistance for residents of Westerly, Charlestown, Hopkinton and
Richmond. Our thrift store supports all of these programs. Our
annual store inventory is a 3 day under taking which relies on volunteers
to cull through all of the many donations to determine what can be sold
and what must be trashed or recycled. A group of volunteers would
certainly make things easier for our limited staff!
Multiple volunteer opportunities abound in The Jonnycake Center Thrift Store. With a 5000 sgft thrift store and a steady stream of donations, volunteers are needed to sort donated merchandise, clothes and linens and prepare them for sale. Additionally, volunteers stock and arrange items on shelves and clothing racks.
Sales from the Thrift Store directly support the Center's ability to assist clients through our food pantry and emergency financial assistance. Without our dedicated volunteers we would not be able to provide the level of support we do. For more information about the Center go to WWW.jonnycake.org.
