Who We Are

We are located in the former Guild Guitar building at 23 Industrial Drive near the heart of downtown Westerly's commercial district. In this location, we operate a 2,500 square foot modern food pantry which provides food and personal items to low-income, elderly and unemployed individuals and members of their households. In calendar year 2017, we provided over 200,000 equivalent meals to over 2,600 clients, half of whom are elderly or children. The Center operates a 5,000 square-foot thrift store which is open to the general public and where low-income families, with a voucher, can shop at no cost. The Center provides over $9,000/month in emergency financial assistance to clients who need help due to an unexpected financial crisis. We make referrals to other agencies if needed services are not available at the Center. The Center also accepts volunteers who are required to do some types of court-ordered community service hours. This EXCLUDES felonies and crimes of a violent nature, larceny and shoplifting..

What We Do

It is the mission of the Jonnycake Center of Westerly to provide a continuum of services in cooperation with other agencies in our service area to assist people through crisis situations and to work with each individual to find a path out of dependency toward self-sufficiency. The Jonnycake Center of Westerly is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, educational and financial assistance to those in need in the Westerly-Chariho area.
