Winter 2013 * LVKC trains volunteers to help functionally illiterate adults who are non readers or who read at or below the sixth grade level and/or who have little or no understanding of the English language. Tutor training is conducted in a series of workshops totalling 18 hours. Midway through training, volunteers are matched with students so that they may experience the tutoring process and receive guidance as needed.
