Help us preserve and protect our aging trees at historic Morton Park in Newport. This November, the Newport Tree Conservancy and Bartlett tree experts plan to rejuvenate the storied Kwanzan cherry grove by amending the soil with biochar. In order to protect the soil and remove the grass for amending, we will be spreading a layer of mulch underneath the grove. The more hands the better for the task, and you'll be doing your part to protect these beautiful spring-flowering specimens. Please dress to work outdoors. Tools will be provided. Bring your own gloves and water.
Unvaccinated folks will need to wear a mask.
