Join Mayor Jorge O. Elorza for the 6th annual citywide celebration of Earth Day, a day dedicated to cleaning up green spaces and neighborhoods and celebrating the community groups that make Providence’s public spaces vibrant.

From 9:00am to 12:00pm, volunteers can join one of the many community groups cleaning up a park, planting trees or beautifying a neighborhood! You can find a full listing of events and volunteer opportunities at providenceri.gov/2018-providence-earth-day-spring-cleaning. If you want to register a large group, please email Christy Clausen -cclausen@providenceri.gov

All Volunteers will receive a 2018 Earth Day Spring Cleaning button. Volunteers who show their “I volunteered at Earth Day Spring Cleaning 2018” buttons will receive a free admission to venues in Roger Williams Park, discounts and fun FREE stuff at select local businesses. RIPTA will also be offering free rides to volunteers all weekend.


Providence Earth Day Spring Cleaning 2018 is planned in collaboration with the Partnership for Providence Parks, the Providence Parks Department, Providence Neighborhood Planting Program, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, Johnson and Wales University and Providence Parks Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership. The event highlights the important role that volunteer groups have in making the city’s parks and neighborhoods great places to play, gather and explore.

TIPS: bring sunscreen, hats, dress in layers, BRING WATER!!
