You can help break the cycle of abuse or neglect for a child in DCYF care. Change a child's story!
The RI CASA Program is accepting applications for its Fall, 2019 trainings of volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children.
CASA's 30-hour training prepares volunteer child advocates through instruction about the court system, the child welfare system, the needs of children in DCYF care, family systems, cultural competence, elements of successfully working a case, and reporting on a child's progress.
Applicants are required to complete an application, background checks, and an in-person interview before acceptance into the training program.
Classes will be held at the Garrahy Judicial Complex in Providence from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm, and a couple of Saturdays. Dinner will be provided.
Upon successful completion of training, volunteers will participate in court observation and will be sworn in as volunteer special advocates for children.
