Who We Are

Established in 1962, the Wickford Art Association (WAA) is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to fostering the visual arts. Our mission is to educate, encourage, and inspire our members, the local arts community, and the general public while promoting fine arts and making them accessible to all.

What We Do

The Wickford Art Association (WAA), a non-profit organization founded in 1962, is committed to promoting the arts through education, exhibitions, and community engagement. Throughout the year, WAA offers a wide range of programs, including juried art exhibits, art classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels, and special events that celebrate and support local artists. We also offer scholarships to emerging artists through the Steven Klein Scholarship Program. One of our most exciting and well-known events is the annual Wickford Art Festival, now celebrating its 62nd year. This nationally recognized fine art festival draws thousands of visitors and over 200 exhibiting artists from across the country. To make this large-scale event a success, we’re in need of volunteers to help with artist check-in, hospitality, set-up and breakdown, and general support throughout the weekend. Volunteering is always a very rewarding experience and a great way to support our art community while having fun!
