East End Theatre and Performing Arts

Who We Are

East End Theatre & Performing Arts is a nonprofit (501c3) community theatre organization with a mission to provide inclusive, accessible, and professional performance and arts education opportunities for youths and young adults across RI and Southeastern MA.

What We Do

In East Providence, East End Theatre & Performing Arts is the only place for K-8 students to participate in musical theatre programming, as there has been no programs or opportunities to participate in theatre in any of the K-8 schools since 2018. This is detrimental to the community as, for many students, arts and theatre are their favorite part of school and a motivator to both attend and graduate. Due to this problem, many East Providence and Rhode Island children, preteens, and families are struggling to find local, affordable, inclusive, and robust performing arts programming to fulfill their needs.

Programming offered by our organization includes:

  • “Junior Stage” musical productions for ages 6-16
  • “Main Stage” musical and dramatic productions for ages 17-26
  • “Your Stage” musical and dramatic productions led by college students
  • Private lessons in vocals, music, dance, and acting
  • Full-day theatre camps and intensives for school vacation weeks
  • Year-round acapella and dance groups for post-high school & college students that perform at festivals and events throughout the region
  • An annual Arts Education Showcase where students enrolled in our private lessons can “show what they’ve learned” on stage at the end of the year

As a community theatre organization, East End’s primary purpose is to provide performing arts opportunities through our “Junior Stage'' and “Main Stage '' programs. Each year, we aim to produce at least two shows per program.
