Hospice Volunteer Training October 5 - 26 on Wednesdays from 9:00am -12:30pm in Portsmouth, RI.
We are seeking compassionate adults willing to share time with our hospice patients and their caregivers. Hospice volunteers complete a comprehensive training on end of life issues, bereavement care, communicating with compassion, confidentiality and interdisciplinary care teams.
Volunteers with special talents in sharing music, expressive arts, Reiki sessions or pet therapy are welcome.
Our volunteers also provide caregiver relief, visit with patients, run errands to support the patient and family.
There are opportunities to provide support behind the scenes with newsletters, bereavement and community education.
Must have your own reliable transportation.
Towns served by our hospice volunteers: Portsmouth, Newport, Middletown, Jamestown, Little Compton, Tiverton, Bristol, Barrington, Warren, North Kingstown, East Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston.
