At the Save the Bay Swim 500 swimmers traverse 1.7 miles from Newport to Jamestown to raise money and awareness for Save The Bay. Volunteers are needed to support this event!
This team is for people who are ready to get deep! Positioned in and around the finish line in the water, these volunteers will be funnel swimmers toward the finish line and be ready to assist any swimmer who might need a little help. YOU MUST WEAR WATER SHOES for this role- no flip flops!
Although not required, this may be an especially good role for you if:
- You have a wetsuit
- You have lifeguard training
- You are tall
All Jamestown volunteers will also help with beach setup and breakdown.
PLEASE NOTE: It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the parking area to volunteer check-in.
