Who We Are
Save The Bay is committed to fostering a personal connection between people and Narragansett Bay and encouraging investment in the Bay's future. Save The Bay and its supporters are an active force in southern New England, working to PROTECT, RESTORE and EXPLORE Narragansett Bay and its watershed. Together, we:
- Advocate for better Bay management on the local, state and federal levels.
- Restore Bay habitat salt marshes, eelgrass beds, fish runs and shorelines, to healthier and functioning conditions.
- Encourage discovery and knowledge of the Bay through our educational programs.
- Seek to create a community of Bay citizens who will preserve the Bay for generations to come.
Save The Bay posts many opportunities including shoreline cleanups, plantings, internships, event volunteering and aquarium volunteering on our volunteer portal. Visit volunteer.savebay.org for full details and to sign up!
What We Do
Save The Bay protects, restores and improves the ecological health of the Narragansett Bay region, including its watershed and adjacent coastal waters, through an ecosystem-based approach to environmental action; defends the right of the public to use and enjoy the Bay and its surrounding waters; and fosters an ethic of environmental stewardship among people who live in or visit the Narragansett Bay region.
