Who We Are
The Newport Tree Conservancy is dedicated to fostering a healthy growing urban forest in the City of Newport, Rhode Island through a permanent tree management and planting program, for the benefit of present and future citizens of Newport.
We are planting for the future by prioritizing environmental education for Newport's youngest residents. Through school field trips and summer programs in city parks, students show us their favorite trees in their neighborhoods. Together, we learn about climate change, ecology, and environmental justice.
The Newport Tree Conservancy is dedicated to working toward tree equity for all of Newport's residents to ensure that everyone has access to trees and the benefits they offer.
What We Do
The Newport Tree Conservancy
- Supports the health and resiliency of Newport’s trees
- Connects our community with their city-wide arboretum
- Plants and cares for the next generation of Newport’s urban forest
- Preserves historic specimen trees through propagation
- Educates the community through K-12 school programs and public events
